hermine fritz, owner of the ottakringer lichtspieltheater, an old movie theater in vienna, finds the body of an old man after a saturday-night show. She decides to search for the murderer on her own. schorschi, a waiter in a nearby café and an old friend, unsuccessfully tries to talk her out of it. he then accompanies jermine to the theater to search the body, but it has disappeared. they now have two problems to deal with.
